Due to COVID-19, our classes are on hold until it will be safe to start them again.
The Mandir strives to provide a variety of free classes and activities relevant to India and Hinduism. If you are interested in holding workshops relevant to us, please contact the committee here. Please be advised that as a charity organisation we are unable to host paid classes.
At present we offer the following:
Tabla Classes for children every Saturday morning by Bhakti Sagar Group, Coventry
Tabla is a percussion instrument originating in India, consisting of a pair of drums, used in traditional, classical, popular and folk music. Children will learn devotional songs – see them perform in our gallery, here. Classes take place in Radford, Coventry.
Please inquire at the committee as places are limited.
Free Beginner Odissi Classes for adults every Sunday 4:30 pm
The class focuses on traditional warm up exercises that increase fitness and general wellbeing, and on the basic steps and mudras of Odissi. There will be opportunities to perform in the mandir, too.
Please come in comfortable clothes – salwar kameez would be ideal – and don’t eat heavy food before attending the class.
With any inquiries call or WhatsApp Katalin at 07404429285.
Free Carnatic Music Workshop
We invite you to attend our carnatic music workshop with Ms Naga Smruthi at the mandir, on 6 July, 4-5pm where you will learn the very basics of singing and will be able to discuss following classes with the teacher.
